I've recently added a hard drive and changed from IDE to Raid 0, then proceeded to restore an entire disk drive image from the IDE drive to the Raid 0 drive. I was expecting it to have problems since it uses an entirely different method of access now.

I've tried using the Win 7 dvd to do repairs and boot but that didnt work, anyone know how to get past this, Google's giving me a lot of other things unrelated to my problem :(

I would put my money on the files on the drive now because corrupt due to the transfer
from IDE to Raid 0, you could try unplugging the IDE drive and see if you still get the errors.

I think it will probably need a good format though to get rid of the problems, or you could
try running a repair on the drive incase its just bad sectors on the drive.

nah its not the ide drive, in fact none are plugged in since its all sata. Ermm I think I actually meant changing the Controller from IDE to RAID.

Did the old version of Windows on the IDE drive have the drivers already installed for the new RAID configuration your now using?

Hi,

To resolve the error code 0×490 you can perform a clean boot up, which uses only a minimal set of drivers and start up programs. It helps to eliminate software conflicts and then you can fix the error. To resolve this problem with the hardware device perform a hardware clean boot and check the devices and reboot the computer.
