I reformatted today and had to go through that automatic phone system to get activation to work. Since I find it pretty annoying I tried finding a way to backup the activation settings and found the No Clue Token Restore which is supposed to backup your activation settings. I then backed up my fresh install but wanted to test it so I clicked Restore and now windows 7 isn't activated any more. I guess I wasn't supposed to restore an activation to an already activated version.
What can I do now that doesn't involve messing around phoning Microsoft?
