Win 7 advise

I am running a dual core AMD 5200 and have just pre ordered Win 7 Home Premium will this be OK or do I need the 64 bit version?

That CPU supports 64bit computing, but the key to whether you should be running a 32 or 64bit OS is how much ram you have. If you 4GB+ then you want the 64bit, or if you are planning on adding more ram shortly. This is because although a 32bit OS can 'see' more than 4GB of ram, however it can't actually 'use' it.

That's not to say if you have < 4GB RAM use 32bit, go with 64bit regardless.

You've ordered the 64bit version, and the 32bit version. It comes with both.

I wasnt sure as I can see both 32 & 64 bit versions sold seperately on some sites.
