spoke to tech support yesterday and they advised me to post on here.i have a oc titan goliath system with a gtx 275 and a samsung 206bw monitor with vista 64 upgraded last week to win 7 64bit and am now unable to play any games in widescreen all play in 4:3 now matter what i do been using latest nvidia drivers and tried older versions all games with latest patches even modern warfare 2 won't play in w/s.all setting indicate that monitor is running at 1680x1050 and everything bar games run fine.have switched back to vista but not ideal as i would prefer to run win 7.any ideas?

Sounds like an option in the nvidia drivers regarding aspect rations, I would have thought anyway.

That said you mentioned you upgraded from Vista. Do you mean you did an upgrade install, or was it a fresh installation of 7? I know even MS recommend you have a fresh install rather than upgrade, so your issue could have to do with that.

There used to be an nvidia bug, that didn;t allow you to use resolutions within game,s until you'd used them as a desktop res.

Might be worth a shot, but swicth your desktop thru all the widescreens ressed and confirm within the 20 second,s then revert to normal, then fire up the gaems and see if the option has become available?

Also some games have a seaparte window where you chose the form factor of the screen and a submenu for the actual res, have a check that function isn;t disabled within your games.

I'm on ATi, so can't help beyond that, sorry.

did both an upgrade then a full install on a new/unused 1tb samsung hd,also tried to change within games and switched modes in windows but doesn't change. have also re installed some games but have been unable to do this with modern warfare 2 due to steam

yes drivers installed for monitor, just spoke to activision about call of duty games they think its a dx9 problem and i have sent them a dxdiagnostic report of my system

Check you nVidia Control Panel and make sure it's not forcing all the games to running in a resolution in 4:3, I'm convinced you can changed force a lot settings for games through here.
