Hi,

I use Windows 7 built in backup to create an image of my OS hard drive. I was thinking about getting a SSD (240gb) but read that you cant restore an image to a drive smaller than the 1 it was created from, even if the data will fit on the new drive. Is this true and is there anything I can do if yes?

Thanks

The destination HDD has to be at least as big as the one you are backing up. No way around it as far as I know. As above, it is quite basic but does the job. It is assumed one would replace your HDD for one the same, which is very likely true in most cases.
