Win 7, dragging images in same folder?

Hello All,

Is there any way to rearrange images in a folder by dragging them to a new spot in the folder? It used to work in Vista and XP

I know I can arrange 'em by name ect but is there a way of just dragging them in any order I like?

Nope.

Only options you have are to rename them or live with it.

MS know about the issue, so it may be added in a future update.

I couldn't say. Windows 7 is very similar to Vista so if it was possible in Vista but not 7 I would say it was a decision to remove it.

They took it out. It's one of the many annoyances that have made me find an alternative "Explorer" for Windows 7

I've switched to using Directory Opus. Not primarily for the image organising, I use it more for synchronising directories, bulk renaming and general organisation

Very handy having a dual split explorer window so you can easily drag and drop stuff.

Am I having a thick moment or sommit

I can't seem to be able to drag files in a different order in Directory Opus either. Am I missing something?
