Wondering if anyone can help with this? (Hope I have posted this in the right section)

Just upgraded my computer and installed new mb/cpu/ssd/ram. All other hardware is from previous build.

Installed Win7 64bit ultimate edition, all problem free until I clicked on Computer icon and I was presented with this:

Both DVD rewriter and BLu-ray writer are showing as Audio CD. When you check the properties is shows as, Type CD Drive and File System CDFS.

If you open either drive it shows up like this:

Despite there being no media in the drive Windows is saying that there is something there.

Autoplay is enabled on both drives but when you insert a DVD, CD, Blu-ray nothing happens. It does not even recognise the media in the drive until I eject the drive and re-insert the disc. Then when I eject the disk altogether and close the drive it is saying that the disc is still in there and I can access the contents

I have updated the motherboard's BIOS, installed all new drivers/software, changed BIOS from AHCI to IDE and back again, uninstalled the drives, Windows repair, tried the various autofix's on Microsoft website but anything I do does not change that both drives are recognised as Audio CD devices by windows.

I have tried searching Google to no avail. There are people out there with similar problem but no solution....

MB - Asus Sabertooth X79
DVD - Samsung
Blu-Ray - LG

Try logging in to another user account on the machine..

What 3rd party software have you installed? I've never seen Windows do this

The only 3rd party software installed at the moment is Asus Suite II (latest version), Nvidia, WinZip and Adobe Photoshop CS5. All the other stuff on my hard drives is storage stuff from previous build and old programs on drives waiting to be re-formatted.

Have tried logging on with a different user account but still the same problem.

Solution has been founds thanks to HHC

"remove your current installation of IRSTe, and replace it with the latest V3.0.0.2003 from the Asus download page to fix this problem"

This has sorted the problem out.

Thanks all :)
