Win 7 - Fresh Install - SSD - BSOD

I have just purchased a Samsung EVO 250GB SSD, trying to install win 7 as a fresh install on the drive however after the install/restart I get BSOD in both IDE and AHCI mode.

Bios has latest drivers and SSD has latest firmware.

When I put my old HDD back in, works perfect.

Losing the will to live here :confused:

what does the bsod say?

are you installing windows with just the SSD connected?

are you using a USB stick or DVD?

Bsod screen flashes past so quickly I dont get a chance to read it.

Yes just the ssd is connected for install, my other hdd's have been disconnected.

I have been using my win7 home dvd. I have just tried a friends win10 dvd and i get a bsod after install/reboot once again! It reports that nls files are missing, windows repair doesnt work either.

Really starting to think this ssd I got today is faulty.

does it boot into safe mode? f8 after bios dissapears
