Hi, I've recently noticed that whenever I open my Windows "Games" folder it takes around 15-20 to open and even then is very slow and unresponsive, sliding in and out of "not responding" frequently.

I only have 19 games in there and my system spec should not be causing problems (Phenom II 965, 4GB Corsair Ram, Toxic 5850)

Any ideas what could be causing this ?

Thanks

Did that and still the same. It can't be normal for a reasonably powerful system to struggle on loading 19 game icons and also to not respond alltogether at times. I've had more games in this folder at one time or another with no problem atall.

"Solved my slow Game Explorer Problem...

Have a New Compaq Win 7 Notebook with same issue. Using SysInternals (procmon), discovered that it was doing all this stuff in c:\swsetup\drivers folder every time I tried to open Games Explorer or select a game.

I simply renamed the "drivers" folder (All my drivers are loaded anyway) and problem fixed.

Hope this helps someone else and recommend sysinternal tools for diagnostics.
