Win 7 hangs

I have a new build machine and have installed Windows 7 home on it.
More often than not, it will hang for a minute or so, not long after booting. It dosent seem to matter what I'm doing, opening or closing a window, clicking on a program or somesuch. It'll hang then carry on as if nothing happened. Is it a bug in explorer? It never does it while I'm playing a game or stuff like that.

Oh sorry, it's a Vertex3 120G, no idea what firmware but it is not long out so must be pretty up to date. I've turned off pagefile as I have 8Gig of memory and believe AHCI is set.

I gather I can't update the SSD firmware if it is the system drive. What is the easiest way round this? Do I have to Haul it out of my machine n plug it into another one?

Not yet, no. My SSD firmware is 2.02 which is what it shipped with. 2.06, the latest version has a few minor by fixes and a fixfor installing windows but other than that, no mention of random hangs. Dunno if the newer one will address the issues or not.
