Win 7 help

Have an Alienware m17xr3 took hdd out was gonna put ssd in but could not load backup from USB put old hdd back in and now won't turn on problem with boot I cannot access the restore partition so an stuck I do have a copy xp pro can I install this then go to partitioned hdd part and restore computer to original image of win 7

in theory yes, but you would be better off looking for the function button to do it at start, as there will be a restore key to press on boot like f11 or f12 sometimes that will take you straight to the boot partition.

search the manual or makers site for more info on it

No manual afraid it's on PDF on computer tried hitting f8 but nothing screen just comes up windows boot manager
Windows failed to start insert installation disc and restart but no disc just USB backup

try some more keys on boot, one will bring you the menu f10 11 or 12 etc, or f2 but im guessing

From the manual:

Power on and at the Alienware logo screen tap F8 until Advanced Boot Options appears then select Repair Your Computer. Select AlienRespawn and Emergency
Backup from the System Recovery Options menu and follow the instructions on the screen.

Done respawn formatted old drive it just finished failed to start and startup repair cannot repair the computer automatically could I have some how killed the hdd

Oh man installed w7 on ssd and still boot error last effort went into bios and set to default it changed ahci to raid and its started now man been long 6 hours
