win 7 keeps restarting from sleep

Hi 3rd clean installation of win7 ultimate 64, clean instal with nothing installed put pc to sleep and it awakes again, tried powerconfg and it shows 1 unnamed event tried disabling network controllers and unplugging them switching off all items that have the ability to wakeup pc ( mouse,keyboard etc) checked all wake up items in bios are disabled.

Any other ideas

Have you installed all the drivers? What's your full system spec? Did a memtest?

Hi i have tried it with a bare win 7 install with no updates also with updates all i have plugged in is mouse,keyboard, deskstar hard drive and ati 5450 gpu, not done memtest on it will try it now

You still haven't stated your full system specs.

On the other hand, I can't seem to find the latest drivers for your motherboard, seems abit does not have a site.

Is it possible for you take everything out of the case and test the system then? Could be the power button on the case shorting it to wake up?

Okay worked out what causes it but not a solution to cure it.

I have a microsoft desktop set with a single usb receiver if i pull the receiver as windows goes to sleep all works fine plug it back in and it reboots and all is back to square 1 again with it reawakening (despite turning power off in devicxe manager for every item), any ideas, also its just a bare motherboard out of the case

Also it can be random when it wakes 10 secs or 1 hour was also thinking that it could be bios related as the board is that old with no current updates

So it looks like it's the microsoft desktop set that's causing it. Have you tried going to the microsoft site and downloading the latest drivers for it?

Hi thanks for the help, i have tried it with no drivers and the latest but still the same result, even tried it with the batteries out in case it was a stray signal but nothing.

I am at a loss ass everything worked on my past setup that i gave to my son and got this one(his old one ) in return
