Hi all, got a problem for you to solve;)

My Win 7 machine has stopped recognizing dvds.

Usually I put in a dvd, PowerDvd sees it and starts to play it.
Now when I insert a disc, it just sits there. If I go into Powerdvd to try and select the drive it says the format is unsupported. (these discs work fine in another pc btw)

I have tested various discs, and the only thing that will work is the extra content on some dvds you get that require a Pc.

If I put an audio disc in that plays fine, as does a computer program installation cd.

So far Ive uninstalled the drive in device manager and rebooted, so Im after some pointers please!

Any other info needed, just ask, Ta

Edit: also tried in safe mode, but still no luck

I would suggest reinstalling PowerDVD or try playing the DVD using another media player. Sounds like a problem with your codec.
