Win 7 Question

Please forgive my ignorance, but I am running the RC version of win 7 at the moment.

I have the retail version coming this week and i was wondering if i do need to reinstall or is there some sort of update i can perform I.E. entering the product key and it will update itself ?

You'll need to do a clean install, the final product is different from the RC.

Ok I feared as much - thats not a problem just hoping to save myself a little hassle of reinstalling. Cheers.

RC was a test version for it will still have bugs. Best procedure is a clean install

You can always use the Easy transfer wizard to grab all your docs and settings. Just save it to another drive or partition.

Will the copy that arrived today actually install / register / work since it is still 3 days before the launch, or should i sit tight and do nothing for 3 days?

I activated mine today - had the RTM version installed since last week, never had any problems Showboat.

RC is to be treated as the 'final beta' really.

Cheers, ill update firmware on crucial ssd then do a clean install
