Recently upgraded to Win 7 64 bit from Xp, then happened to notice my BIOS is a few versions out of date, so I tried to download it but noticed that Win 7 is not an option under OS. So I took the Vista version, thinking its the latest on there but it won't install, not a major problem as I will just stay with current version but just wondered if anyone else has come across anything like this and if so what version OS did you try ?

Your motherboard BIOS?

Don't bother with that mate. It can sometimes make things worse.

Unless you're being affected by a known bug in the BIOS which has been fixed in a newer version, don't bother.

The BIOS is separate so there aren't really any OS specific versions, unless the manufacturer is providing a special installer depending on the OS you have?

As above, I'd say have a look through the changelogs of the BIOS versions, if it fixes anything that's been causing you a problem then go for it. If not, leave it.

Yeh I know it can cause more problems than its sometimes worth, at present I have no issues so yeah, think I let it be.
@craig : Yeh it was an installer I was trying to d/l.
