Hi
i have been using a hardware raid system and am used to the fact that when a drive fails i just change it and all is good

now due to 2tb limits of my mobo i now have to move to GPT raid volumes built within win 7

so what i want to know is :- if i was to build (just for data storage no O/S) say 4 mirrored volumes over 4 hardrives using win7 disc management tool would i have a system that should 1 drive fail would it me a simple matter of manually replacing that drive with the correct replacement and windows will then rebuild the volumes and all will be well, as with my hardware arrays

Thank's

Yes. Windows should notify you of the failed drive after the system reboots. You'll have to use diskmgmt.msc to remove the mirror and rebuild the array.
