Hi guys.
Im a little confused about the whole shutdown thing.
I changed the date and its now gone away?
Is that all i have to do to continue using win 7?
I have a full copy of xp 64 and im going to move back onto that as i have no money to buy a new os, but while im busy with some work atm is changing the date all i needed to do???
Cheers.

Whether or not they will patch this i dont know, but iv just moved it back in day increments and each time it says:
You have 1 day remaining
You have 2 days remaining
You have 3 days remaining
etc.
But its fine for me atm, lets hope it stays this way ;)

Im just going to keep moving it back by 2 months to January , i originally had it set 4 years behind so the dates would always line up but some programs like msn dont like that and get confused so refuse to work.

No doubt everyone will find out soon, and Microsoft will quickly release a fix - its not permanent :p

by default i think the clock updates itself once a week. you'll want to turn that off.

and you may run into problems with secure websites. they have digital certificates to verify their identity but if you edit your clock so it's outside their validity period, you won't be able to use their services.

As mentioned, depending on how you use your system changing the system time significantly will lie somewhere between an inconvenience and a world of pain.
