I've not long done a fresh install onto an evo 840 but I'm starting to see little things like icons not looking how they should.
Things like the wireless strength bar, some of the bars are merged together. The spinning loading sign has slight artifacts round it, then last night I got a blue screen with loads of writing on it.
It didn't give me time to read it but at the bottom it said "Dumping Files".

Anything I should check?

open a dos window as admin

sfc /scannow
see what you get

sounds more like a hardware issue from what you describe

Are the GPU drivers installed and display mode set correctly?

As above sounds more likely to be hardware related than software.

Sorry you'll have yo bare with me as I'm not that PC savvy. I'll Google this ^ and give it a go.

The only thing I can think of hardware wise is maybe the ssd. Its newish but I first out it in my other old PC which was playing up and hanging all the time. I cloned the HDD in it to the 840 evo bit it just cloned the problem over.

I did a secure erase on the ssd before I installed win 7 on it but had to make a boot CD to do it as Samsung magician just keeps saying the ssd is frozen when I tried a secure erase.
