Win 7 start-up sound

I want to change the start-up sound from the default windows chime.
Anyone know a way to do this without editing the registry (or other similar chore)?

Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Personalization then sounds. Then scroll down to windows logon and browse for the file.

there isn't an event for start-up, only log-on

Ah right yeah, I've just realised you mean the start-up (as I don't usually hear it as my soundcard hasn't turned on at that stage). From what I can see the only way is to edit/change the imageres.dll which is quite a lot of messing around.

you can turn it off though. it's one of the first things i do.
