Just a quick check.

Windows 7 Starter edition doesn't include Windows Media Player, but can you simply download it from Microsoft and install it?

And what is the cheapest option to upgrade it if proves too lacking? I can't check Microsoft Anytime upgrade website. But I imagine it might be cheaper to buy a retail box upgrade version instead.

Hi I didnlt even think that was available in the UK. Thought it was for "third" world customers and the like.

Can you even activate it with a UK IP?

Itr comes with some netbooks now.

Yes the reason WMP is missing i beleive is due to the new EU licensing rules which means MS cant include WMP or IE8.

As long as people think WMP is installable with Starter edition. As it is intentionally limited to make it less attractive.

From reading around the 3 applications running at a time was scrapped, but it still retains stuff like not being able to change background image, etc.
