Win 8.1 (Old) upgrade issue

A friend asked me to upgrade her laptop from 8.0 to 8.1 (I have infinity, she doesnt)

The upgrade failed (Possibly due to micro-power cut during final installation) and reverted back but now I do not seem to be able to access the store to try again.

Store starts to open (Big green page for a few seconds) and then reverts to metro start screen!

Any ideas??

My Win 8.1 after bigger change in the system does automatic system backup, maybe try restoring? It will show you what was the last event, time and date, you can always go back if the last backup was made ages ago.

After doing a "System restore" i was able to intsall correctly.

(Interestingly the win 8 > 8.1 upgrade from the win store now incorporates the recent win 8.1.1 upgrade etc so I didn't have to do a load of additional updates afterwards )
