Bit of a late ask I imagine - my girlfriend has a small acer touchscreen notepad that is still running win 8.1. Quite some time ago she tried to do the windows 10 upgrade but it borked for some reason, she took it to a local IT repair shop who managed to restore the OS back. It’s still sat on 8.1, but runs poorly won’t update and feels like it would benefit from a format and reinstall.
Is it too late for the windows 10 upgrade? Would the 8.1 key activate windows 10 or am I going to have to stick with 8.1?
