win 8 auto return to start screen

this may not be possible
and i know most off you do not want the metro/start screen

How do i get win 8 to return to the start screen ,without any key press automatically or defaults to the start screen when programs are closed on the desktop
eg closes powerdvd and go's to the start screen not desktop

it will make my htpc a lot easier for the wife to use if it did that

My laptop came preinstalled with Windows 8 and I use a program called Start8

Maybe you can set a scheduled task with the triggered action being equivalent to the windows key being pressed?
