Hi

Just finished rebuilding my computer with a few new parts and i'm doing a clean install of Windows 8.

I was wondering what I actually need to install/download when I boot it up, should I update the BIOS?

So I guess I need the chipset drivers? GFX drivers, my external sound card drivers, anything for the motherboard? And ASUS suite is it worth using or does it just clog up space? Do my SSD's need drivers?

Just trying to get everything onto a stick for when I clean install. Usually when i clean install I end up downloading loads of bits and bobs and i'm trying to get it just down to the essentials this time.

Thanks

it depends, I fine that windows is quite good at finding my hardware.

when I do a clean install of 7 the only things I download are my gpu drivers, USB 3 ones and my sata 6 drivers. the rest is fine.

best thing to do is go to your motherboards manufactures site and download everything for your board. after that do your GPU, sound card and anything else that require drivers

SSDs will be fine, I have 2 in my system and don't need any drivers for them but I need to get the sata 3 drivers
