Quick question which I can't find on google.
So if you use the win 8 upgrade edition you turn your old win 7 key into a windows 8 key so cannot install that win 7 key on another computer.
But if you use the win 8 retail edition you can install win 8 and still have the old win 7 license key to use on another computer.
But here's my question.
I used the dreamspark programme to get windows 8. It seems to be a full license key (not upgrade)
But when I burned it to a usb and rebooted to install. I did not pick the clean install option but the upgrade win 7 to win 8 (i wanted to keep apps).
Does this mean I stupidly released my windows 7 key because I said to upgrade. Or will it still be valid?
Cheers
