win 8 pro Media question

hi im now using windows 8 pro and I was under the impression that the Media center was included as i can play movies/ music etc,

But when i go to add or add new key to windows 8 its says I can upgarde my media center for £6?

Any Ideas on what the updgrade is?

Windows 8 does not come packaged with the Media Center.

It is free until the end of the 31st Jan 2013 from MS though.

You need to get and activate the code by the 31st, however emails can take a day or two to come though, or maybe that was just the initial rush.

I picked up a couple of keys recently and it only took about 2-3hours to come through, so probably the initial rush of everyone doing it, along with the MS mistake of getting a full working licensed Win8 out of it

Cut off early? Took me 3 days to get my key, if anything if I can deactivate and re-use the key, you can have it as I doubt i'll fully use media center.

Anyway of doing such thing?

Just off the phone to microsoft support and the guy said, the reason for the error is that I was not asking for a key from my win 8 pc?

Surely thats rubbish LOL as i actually splashtopped my normal win 8 laptop (not pro) and got the same error They have shut the shop early me thinks
