win 8 to 8.1

I have win8, and wanting to get to 8.1. Is there a update I need to download before it appears in the store.

Btw if it does not show in Store try running Windows Update and download all the updates etc then go to Store and try again.

If you can download the 8.1 ISO and perform a clean install.

There are a few thread in this forum on how to get the 8.1 ISO. Something around cancelling the update tool before it starts the install.

That link took me to the store, but no link is showing. So I downloaded kb2871389, and it said I already have it installed. Im running win8 OEM preinstalled, don't think that is the problem.

Have you rebooted your PC since the last updates?

Btw I do know the very early AMD X2 CPUs are not compatible with Win8.1,http://www.guru3d.com/news_story/some_older_amd_cpus_do_not_support_windows_8_1.html .

Check you got this update installed,

It says that the kb2871389 is already installed.

Don't know if this helps. You will probably have already covered this but I will mention it anyway!

I had trouble initially finding the 8.1 update simply because it was to the "Left" of the opening screen on the store page and I only searched "Right"! Make sure you have gone all the way to the "Left" on the slidey bar thing!

managed to get it by, uninstalling that kb2871389, then reinstalling the kb2871389 manually.

Maybe you had a corrupt KB2871389 install first time round.
