Win a share of 1,000,000 Microsoft Points

Microsoft are giving away a million MS points to celebrate the released of the NXE update.

Specifically, gamers from the US, Canada, Singapore and the UK (over 18) will stand a shot at 46 prizes, the star attraction of which is a whopping 500,000 MS Points (GBP 4250).

After that, there are five lots of 50,000 MS Points (GBP 425), ten batches of 10,000 MS Points (GBP 85), and 30 lumps of 5000 MS Points (GBP 42.50).

To enter, all you have to do is download a film, a telly show, a full Xbox Live Arcade game, an Xbox Originals game or a game add-on.

The sweepstake runs from 2pm (GMT) Wednesday 19th November (New Xbox Experience launch), to early morning on Monday 24th November.

Would be nice winning 500,000, thats a lot of themes.

Entry into the contest requires a couple of steps. First, you have to register your Gamertag by downloading the (free, thankfully) "Download & Win" gamer picture. Then, between 6:01AM (PST) on November 19 and 11:59PM (PST) on November 23, you have to purchase and download an item on the Live Marketplace in one of the following categories to actually be entered into the contest:

* Movie
* TV Show
* Full Arcade Game
* Xbox Originals Game
* Game Add-On
* Music Video

Well of course they will, they're only giving away about 8000 pounds.

Not to mention its 8000 "pounds" as its just points conjured from thin air as well, they make the points after all so its costing them nothing.

Well it does cost really as you can download things that would normally have a cost associated with them for 'free', so there's a loss of revenue for them. Of course, If I was to enter (which I'm not), I'd probably spend the points on things that I wouldn't have bought anyway.
