Fun competition time!
In conjunction with Corsair, I'm going to be running a really fun competition Live on Twitch.

Competition:

Since I love typing, quite a lot actually! I regularly play on http://play.typeracer.com/. Type Racer lets you compete against other typists and since we are on the topic of keyboards this is something you can get involved in. A race can hold a number of competitors (up to around 6 per race)
You will be competing against myself in typing races. Anyone who beats my WPM will be entered into a prize draw to win a prize. I am no means the best typer, but also far from the worst with wpm between 126 - 130. I wanted to run something a little different than normal competitions.

1st Prize - K70 RGB Keyboard [red switch]
2nd Prize - M65 RGB Mouse
3rd Prize - MM200 Mouse Pad

We will have 3 Winners overall!

Under the pressure! You may have a chance :D

Saturday 7th February @ 1pm GMT

Rules?:

STILL TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT >_<

- Competition rules will be gone over in Twitch
- You must tune into Overclockers UK Twitch Channel plus have Twitch account (will need for PM's)
- You need to sign up to type racer so you'll not have a guest accounts - guest accounts WILL NOT qualify
- you will need to take a screenshot of the page clearly showing your account is logged in under the winning user (I will also be keeping screenshots of winners)
- The competition is open to UK & Ireland only

Terms & Conditions:

- The competition is open to UK & Ireland only
- Not open to staff
- Winners will be selected by Random
- Any unfair play, or suspicious activity will void your entry
- Competition is run by Overclockers UK and may be changed, withdrawn or amended at any time.

You can also follow me on my own channel www.twitch.tv/valkia
Since it's the first time running a competition on typeracer like this, I may update the rules on how it will work to make it fairer.

I just got 107 which is actually poor for me. Did you get asked to take a cheat test when you got over 100 ?

I was curious and looked at the top scores and they are over 300wpm. So I checked and the world record for typing over one minute is 216wpm so I leave you to guess what has happened with the top scores in the past.

Yeah it asks you to do the anti-cheat test over 100wpm and it's from a non-text image so there can't be cheating xD

I think I got asked again at 125.

Some words can be pretty tricky and can slow down WPM pretty heavily, there may be cases which I get stuck on :D I'm going to be training tonight ;)

Anything need to be done to sign up for this, or is it just "turn up when it's happening"?

At the moment in rules it's

- sign up to type racer
- sign up to forums

turn up and play, i'm just figuring logistics to make it fair because it's only one link I provide and don't want the situation where it will always be rammed and uncontrollable.

So BigplaysIntro [Twitch name]

was the winner. It was too difficult to tie up forum names, with twitch names and type racer names. So I did it based off people in the channel.

The new keyboard is great, but I wasn't used to it right away so had to spend some time getting up to speed which gave people and advantage.

Was a little bit winged trying to organise who to compete but did the best I could :D

Some good speeds around 135 WPM which was impressive.
