Win Rar and deleting files

Were they large files?

If they are too big they can be deleted bypassing recycle bin. Or you could have 'Do not move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted' checked in the properties?

Edit:-

Or this from support.microsoft.com

The following deletion actions do not send files to the Recycle Bin, whether or not the Recycle Bin is active:

Deletions from removable disks (CD-RWs, floppy disks, Zip drives, and other removable disks).
Deletions from remote shares.
Deletions from compressed (zipped) folders.
Deletions at the command line.

Individually no. Combined about 2Gb.

If you delete the files directly from a WinRAR archive, then unfortunately they are gone. They're not files on the Windows file system so Windows cannot move them to the recyclebin.

There's a very slim change the files will be in %TEMP% as WinRAR may have unpacked the files there temporarily, but not sure for a delete to be honest.
