I run a pc repair centre and have many copies of XP home & Pro that we use daily to reinstall XP on customers PC's or repair corrupted versions. Today I have tried to reinstall XP home and Pro OEM on 2 PC's 1 with a new hdd the other with a format using the normal CD's and neither will activate, I must have done 5 reinstalls on each today.

It accepts the license key ok, then says its activated but logs me straight out, when I relogin it says I need to activate but cant because I have already done it.

I am not even getting the 30 day period, anyone else having any issues?

Just phone up, put in the code, and say you only use that copy on 1PC, it will let you install, the XP activation procedure is becoming buggier and buggier as they phase it out...

tried this, it activates ok but wont let me login. I cant understand why I'm not even getting a 30 day period. I do this day in day out, I'm wandering if there is an easter egg in the software relating to the date, which is why I'm asking if anyone else is having issues.

Try installing ie 8 using safemode command prompt. I've come accross a few problems with activation and installing an updated version of ie sometimes fixes it (as it uses ie for the activiation wizard.

Otherwise i dunno :s
