Win XP and Explorer will not start

ok quick info on this see if anyone can help....friend got the thinkpoint virus...ive sorted it by removing it from registry...on removal from registry i must have deleted the explorer.exe...so now when i start windows its just the blank screen......same in safe mode.....in safe mode i can ctrl alt del and then run explorer from the run command in task manager....anyone know how i can get it to work in normal log on or import it into registry again....system restore had been disabled for some reason so cant restore...thanks

I would try a repair install personally.

sorted it had to make a reg file and import to the registry....ahhhhh have to be careful what i delete in future lol
