Got a pc run the above O/S even though this service is set to automatic .. for some reason on boot up of the P.C it always has to be started. I have changed the options to get the service to retry 2 times and then if no joy after a minute reboot to try to repair it. But every time it doesnt load .. this has been going on now for a few weeks I have also gone into Msconfig and made sure the boot up applications are ticked and present. And done a system restore but still it refuses to start up Automatically.

Can anyone shed any light on what might be the problem? Thanks

Do you have any other wireless software installed that came with the wireless card/dongle? Normally third party apps will stop the WZC service and use its own software.

Thanks for the heads up . I have looked into the wireless connection PCI card configs and system tells me it is working fine. as for Services.msc yes checked those hence I have to keep going in and starting the configuration each time the pc boots up .. I cant really understand what the problem is, it is not long ago that it started to happen hence I moved the date back on the sysem restore to before I first noticed it happening .

It is quite frustrating as the pc belongs to my youngest and I cant tell him how to enable the configuration (as he is quite young).. I just wondered if any of you smart peeps on here had got a cunning plan,...

Would it make any difference If I unistalled/reinstalled the pci card with the wirless adaptor. On second thoughts maybe unistall the software and reinstall it~?

Third party software tends to disable WZC, similar to my Belkin one. If the software is decent enough, it should have an option in Preferences, or perhaps if it runs in the system tray by the clock, it might let you choose whether you want to use it or enable WZC.
Is there a way to uninstall the software and just install the driver only? WZC should let you start it then if no other wireless software is taking preference to Windows.

If the service keeps messing up could you just not disable it and forget about it and instead use the software that came with the driver to config the network. Surpose it depends on how good/bad the software is but it may fix your problems
