Hi there,
Got a bit of an odd problem with on pof my machines running Windows XP. first things first, yes, I would prefer to switch it to Windows 7, but i can because its the print controller for a plotter that only has drivers for Win XP, the controller card cant be installed in a Win 7 machine, I've tried.
So anyway, I'm stuck with it is what I'm saying. anyway, when the PC is used to search for something on the fileserver (Win Server 2003) to open it, Windows Search lags something shocking, it just slows right down, and only respnods to commands after like a minute (eg, opening a file from the search window). Its fine when searching its local hard drives however.
A minor inconvienence really, but still pretty annoying seeing as it didnt used to do it prior to its most recent reformat, nothing on the fileserver has been altered, so it must be a local problem.
Does anyone have a clue as to what the problem could be?
