win xp start up lag

hi there. ive got an old Barton system, but it is clocked etc and plenty quick enough to boot into win xp without lag

it loads the usual AV etc but then it all stops for about 10-15s whilst it finds the network connection (lan to internet) etc

im sure it never used to have the lag before

any idea how i can avoid this? other PCs on the same network dont

its probably a driver or some software loading up


do a defrag first incase its that


then use bootvis to see what is causing the pause
