Win7 64 bit assesment index

Hi , I have not long installed win7 64bit onto the system in my sig and all is well apart from the windows assessment index tool does not want to do any assessment , I push the tab for new assessment index and nothing happens!

any ideas?

Have you tried clicking "Re-run the assessment" at the bottom of the window?

Hi , all that i have is a "rate this computer tab" so i use this and nothing happens

do you have your graphics drivers installed from amd

what about device manager, any unknown hardware showing?

Do you have valid GFX drivers installed? Your Windows Aero is disabled indicating your GPU drivers are not installed?

Hi , I have had trouble with the gfx drivers , the amd ones give me BSOD so i went to the his site and downloaded those and it has been ok , however i let windows search for drivers and it installed but the test still didn't want to run , so i used the run command and it worked and then ran ok from windows. Just hope i don't get the bsod back!

looks like my hard drive needs an upgrade maybe , i was hoping to go ssd sometime i guess or some 6 gb sata western digital maybe

is aero working for you, i,e if you minimize internet explorer and hover your mouse over the task bar ie icon do you get a preview of internet explorer, if not you need to try and sort out the AMD drivers, I think I know what your problem may be, when you let windows update your graphics card drivers it kinda screws them up, to sort it you will need to unistall all ati software/drivers through programs and features in control panel, then go to device manager and unistall what drivers are there under your graphics adapter, if windows try to install again click it and cancel, before hand download 11.1a hot fix drivers so you can install after a reboot after you do the above, this should sort it out for you.

Hi , again , did as recommended and deleted windows drivers and ati drivers and loaded hot fix 11.1a in, released 26th of Jan, windows index tool said that harware not detected and i needed to run again , this time it worked !

All that i get when i hover over a minimized internet page is a box pop up with what is minimized, no detail of whats on the page other than say "yahoo.co.uk internet explorer" or whatever, is this right do you think?

does the pop up contain a small image of the actual page, also do you have transparency on your windows, if you right click the desktop and click personalise do you see Aero themes and can you apply them?

Hi , yes now its working, its strange because i had a win7 theme running but after i went in and applied it again then i get the mini page on the task bar , thank you all for your help , well and truely sorted.

Hope Ati sort these drivers out, without all these hotfix versions.
