Hi there

I've just upgraded a HP DV8000 laptop from XP to Win 7 Ult. Everything is working fine apart from the audio as HP don't seem to have any drivers for the Mass storage controller and the multimedia audio centre on this particular laptop running this osx.

I've followed the mighty Google suggestions and installed sp35558 with Conexant Audio Drivers which failed - can anyone offer any advice on where best to get drivers for this system please?

Is it a dv8000 or 8000 series? If the latter, what is the exact model number?

Also, HWID's from device manager from the devices which need the drivers may be useful :)

Hi there

Thanks for your response first of all. The laptop in question is a HP Pavilion DV8000. HWID's = Hardware Identification? How would I get that information?

I've copied a screen dump of Device manager where you can see the device that's causing the issue:

Each device offer an error code 28 when clicked on which I understand means The drivers for this device are not installed.

Hi there

Just a quick reply to advise any others that maybe experiencing this issue of the route we took in order to resolve this issue. Ended up we reinstalled Win 7Ult with the 32bit version and downloaded the HP 32bit drivers which done the job :)

Cheers to DAvE_18 for his assistance in this matter ;)

32 Bit Vista drivers worked. The 64 Bit drivers for vista refused to work on windows 7 64 bit. Hp couldn't be bothered putting out any.
