Win7 Backup question

Hello

Just a quick question regarding Windows Backup that maybe someone can answer please.

If I set up Windows Backup to back up everything in My Music to a backup drive every week. Does it detect if I've added anything to My Music since the last back up and just add that to what's already backed up or does it back up everything in My Music again? Hope that makes sense.

The backup Windows 7 follows is incremental backup. Windows Backup will add new or changed information to your subsequent backups. If you're saving your backups on a hard drive or network location, Windows Backup will create a new, full backup for you automatically when needed.

I set this up on my parent's PC and it seems to be reliable. The only strangeness is that Windows decides when it's time to start a new full backup set, this is not something you can control.

In a little over 12 months, it's only generated 3 new backup sets, the rest are all incremental.

Try Duplicati, free, doesn't bother you with popups and many many backup options to play with.
