Win7 Data backing up.

I was wondering if somebody knew of a guide or could write a guide to backing up all your personal data on windows 7.
Just a simple step by step approach to systematically making sure you have all your personal data.
Sorry if its a steep request, I'd be fine on XP, I just have trouble navigating files in Win7 and Vista to a certain extent.

This is in preparation for a reformat as I'm having MAJOR issues getting cubase 5 to work on vista OR 7.

Have a look at Acronis. It can make complete partition images as well as many backup options. Also has a 30 day trial so if you can get everything sorted in that time it is free. Of course I tried that installing Win 7 but decided to buy it anyway. If you use the trial they email you a 5 pound off offer.
