Guys I need help and are starting to pull my hair out over this

I have found that if I am playing any form of media through an app or a web browser my network performance drops to under 1mb/sec. This slow speed continues until I close whichever application is playing the media which sees the transfer jump back to 60mb/sec+

I recall this was an issue with the early release of vista but have never seen this before on Windows 7
This is what I recall having on Vista, but was fixed with SP1

Does anyone else have this on their system, or is it time for a complete rebuild ?

Hmm.. as I was writing this out it noticed the age of the network drivers, I updated to a much newer driver and it appears to have improved the network performance, now I get up to 10mb/sec?

It looks like this build has been running for 3 years as I always use the latest drivers at the time of the build. That's some achievement considering the amount of software that gets installed and removed on this system.
