or any other ideas like another operating system maby

thank you

blimy perfect thanks very much i see there are a few versions which one would go for? (ive got 64 bit)

2147483647 X17-59465.iso Windows 7 Ultimate x64 English ----- <<<<< is this the best version of win7??

thank you

The media you download will have to match the key you have for Windows, if that key is from a pre-installed system on a laptop there will almost certainly be some restrictions on the license and it's further use.

Andi.

bloody hell that looks really tricky i might have to save up for a real copy really fustrating as ive brought everything but i havnt got a operating system

I'd imagine the laptop has an OEM key, so you'll need to buy a new licence.

You could install with that for now though, just don't enter a key during install.

Go for the Home Premium x64 version, (you'll need that disc). Unless you want remote desktop or domain joining.

Or you could just buy Windows 8, that's what I'd do.

By the way, to get the ISO on a disc, either using IMGBurn to burn it to disc, or use rufus to put it on a USB stick (it will wipe the stick)
