I've installed a new SSD into my netbook, and I want to install Win7 starter.
The original netbook came with no 'backup'/boot disk, so I've downloaded the ISO, obviouslly planning to use my legit key on the sticker found on the bottom of the netbook.
Trouble is, I'm not sure how to install from USB onto the SSD (I've no portable CD drive!).
I've tried;
- formatting in FAT32 and putting the ISO on the USB, and booting from it
- extracting the ISO onto the USB, and booting from it
Both times I get 'Missing operating system', am I missing something?
I tried with the original hard drive, as well as the SSD and seeing the same, so it's something that I'm fundementaly doing wrong! have also tried with ubunutu incase it was a problem with the ISO but see the same.
