Win7 wont shutdown / restart

Notice you have an X-Fi, which drivers are you using?

Some people were having issues with one set of drivers where by it was delaying shut down, up to several minutes or more for some people. Can't remember if anyone had it on Win 7 or not but check their forum.

Sorry, was at work earlier. Here's the thread I was talking about over on the creative forums. Seems there are fixed ones kicking around but creative won't up them, you need to request the link in that thread.

Thanks for replies but using the drivers off the Creative site didnt help :(

Oh and and think that slow shutdown thread is for the X-Fi XtremeMusic soundcard, this is my card

Run msconfig and look for CTxfisp.exe and disable it, then restart

CTxfisp.exe is used for automatic speaker/headphone switching for the breakout box. I had the same problem once I did this all worked fine

It's more the drivers than the soundcard, they all pretty much use the same. The thread starter may have had a diff card but it seems to affect various cards on various versions of windows.

The latest ones from Creative are the problem ones, you need to request the link from that thread for the fixed ones or use older/different drivers.

try it in another slot on your motherboard

use the latest driver

install the newest W7 windows updates
