Is it possible to remove the delayed start in Win8.1 64bit?
I mean the computer boots up super fast to desktop but then there is a 10-15sec delay before apps like Dropbox, DU Meter etc that i have set to load with Windows actually load up.
Is there any way i can remove that delay so they load up straight away without having to wait?

try and learn to be a bit more patient? :/

not just waiting a few seconds for your programs to start but also bumping your thread after 3 hours....

Tried that mate already, didnt do anything.
My boot up time fresh off to desktop is around 9sec which is plenty fast and i can open chrome and other apps straight away. Its the other apps that ive set to load at start up which are delayed by 10/15sec. I believe this was introduced in vista to speed up boot times but its a little inconvienance

Argh well that is annoying then :( Dropbox I can understand as it seems to check for updates/new files to sync each boot. Others I don't really understand why.

Must admit I don't have this problem in a virtual machine.

Its the following apps that load after 10/15sec of entering desktop:

CCleaner
PS3 Media Server
Dropbox
MSI FastBoot
My LockBox
MS Keyboard and Settings HotKeys
DU Meter

All Windows services and drivers load up instantly with boot. Its just the apps which i have configured to load at start up.

applications loaded at startup aren't usually interactive so i really don't see the problem.

so what if it takes dropbox 15 seconds to start? what exactly are you prohibited from doing? local files will still be in the same state as when you shut down. if you added files on another device, it will take time to sync anyway.

The MS hotkey software controls the special hotkrys keys on my keyboard configured to open specific web pages and have custom commands. I cant do that until that software loads

fairy nuff. i would have had more sympathy for you if you mentioned this in your first post. :p

If they have a service associated with them there is an option now for the service to be:

Automatic (Delayed Start)

This may be what is causing it - you can try changing that to Automatic and see how that goes.
