Win8 64bit - FireFox - Ccleaner

yes slow
i right click on recycle bin and click run ccleaner and in 8 it is very slow compared to 7 however i have gone back to 7

Make sure in Ccleaner > Options > Settings that you are not using too many passes to wipe your data. The quickest is 'normal delete' but doesn't actually wipe the data.

Which version are you using?...I'm using 64 bit version of CCleaner.

I'm using the "slim" version from the "builds" page http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
The program is located in "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner64.exe", so it is 64bit.

I set in to wipe 3 times.
It wipes the recycle bin and everything else very fast, it's just when it reaches FireFox content that it slows down to a crawl.
I could probably erase a few hundred MB's from the bin, by the time it's erased maybe 10 to 20 MB's of FireFox data.

Never bothered wiping data. Unless I'm selling a hard drive, then I use DBAN.. Just in case there's old cookies hanging around.

Just to update this thread with a solution, which might help someone else.

I installed "SlimCleaner" and it's very fast compared to Ccleaner.
It took seconds to clean, instead of minutes.

:)
