Ok well i bit the bullet and moved to Win 8 as many people have, and after the initial panic i quite like how responsive it is and clean..
I do however have 2 issues...
firstly the power management is playing up...
1,my hard drives simply will not spin down.. no matter what setting i choose
2, when streaming a movie to my PS3 using PS3MediaServer, windows still goes into standby after the 30 minutes.
both of these problems didnt exist in 7, and i am at a loss as what i can do.. I have resorted to disabling standby and unplugging the hard drives :\
(I have also tried disabling the drives in case they where being accessed and that made no difference..)
my 2nd issue is not power related but i use SmartFan set to start on bootup as a Task with highest privilages, (the only way it would work in win 7) and in 8 it either
doesnt load at all,
loads and stalls before initializing the program (then i had to click on the icon to make it complete..)
again i have checked through the settings and even asked it to retry load if it fails.. and still not working :\
tbh i can cope with clicking on it when i boot up.. but it would be nice if it worked like it did :\
any ideas please?
cheers
Andy.
