Winamp 5.5 crashing

Anyone suffer from constant crashing in Winamp 5.5 when searching music library? I've just gone back to 5.35 and it's working fine.
 
I don't have this problem. Are you on XP or Vista?

I do sometimes find that when I run Winamp having logged in that where the media library window should be is entirely black. I have to click on another tab and back again to get it to appear as it should.

I would suggest you give the Winamp forums a go, http://forums.winamp.com/. They'll be more comprehensive than this forum, perhaps due to being just about Winamp! ;)

I'm sure someone else has had the same problem and so the Winamp devs know about it and can add a fix, if they are able to, to the next Winamp release. :)
 
Aye they really use their forums as source of things to fix sometimes. I had questions about MP3 players a while back which were answered by one of the tech people almost immediately :)
 
I've finally dumped winamp after 5.5 kept on crashing on me and moved over to and I can't believe this myself but media player 11, so far I quite like it, no crashes and just plays music fine.
 
I've been using Winamp for a very long time (~9 years) and could probably count the number of times it's crashed on the fingers of one hand.

That said, I'm still using classic skin and haven't touched the music library.
 
Winamp 5.35 was stable, just this new one 5.5, everytime I re-scan music lib..gone back to 5.35, and it completed the scan first time.
