Winamp crashes with Vista Ultimate.

I wonder if anyone can shed some light as to a fix for this.

I currently run Winamp 5.531 with Vista Ultimate and I keep getting crashes with it. It does it mostly when either it gets to end of the last track in the playlist or when streaming on Shoutcast.

I tried running the main exe file from the directory in Winxp Compatibility Mode but no luck.

Has anyone else got this issue and is there something I can do to resolve it?

Have you tried the Winamp forums? This sounds like it could be a common problem.

I trawled the forums looking for a solution and the only thing I could find is the possibility of a bug in the skin I was using.

I have put the origional skin back on and I am currently testing it. Seems ok so far with Shoutcast so I am thinking it may be to do with the skin I had installed.

Only time will tell now.

Sounds good. You could try some other skins just to test them out. What skin were you using that could be the problem?

I was using the 'simple_modern' skin.

Sits on top of the sidebar just right and has all the shortcuts I need on the front.

Currently got the 'Cell' skin on and rotating through a few to see if I get the same errors.

Had problems for the first time with the latest version.
went back to 5.5 & all is good.
