Winamp has stopped playing in 5.1

I've had to reinstall everything on my laptop, and set up all the speaker settings again, etc, downloaded the latest version of Winamp, but it doesnt play in 5.1. Whereas it works fine through Media Player Classic!?

Any thoughts?

iirc theres some plugin or other you have to install or setup, i've not used winamp fo r5.1 for SO long that I forget!

yep u need 2 install that plugin i went over 3 months looking at all my windows settings thinking why wont 5.1 work then i got this plugin and it worked great would link you but my hdd just gone bang so lost everything.
