Winamp problem

I've just installed Winamp and have a problem.

When i try and play an mp3 it seems to play around 20 seconds at a time. There is no sound whatsoever. The same happens with mpegs, there is no sound but there is video that plays as if it is fast forwarding.

It's not the first time i've had this problem and re-installs don't help.

Any ideas?

Problem sorted. Just did yet another re-install.

However, i have another problem in that sometimes the video window doesn't open when i'm playing mpegs. There's sound there but no video or video window.
